BattleBlock Theater Closed Beta

Thanks to The Behemoth I will be able to play this game before it is released on the Xbox Live Arcade. I've been waiting for this game since it's debut announcement back in 2010; don't quote me on that. I just got my invitation the mail (via outlook) stating I'm one of the lucky 1,000 people that is enlisted in the Closed Beta, and I can bring up to 2 friends or family members if I sign them up under my invitation as well.
Congratulations on being one of the first 1000 selected Beta Testers. The selection process is on-going and we're doing our best to get a good mixture of people into the beta test. We are starting with the first 1000 to give you a chance to invite 2 friends or family members to join you in beta testing. This will help create a more natural environment, since most people play with their friends when they do online multiplayer.
This post is short but sweet, to my self. It's late and sorry to the few readers that come here. Next time I'll make sure it's worth your wile. I'll be having a contest for a Halo 4 avatar shirt for your Xbox 360 or I might even have a contest for a LE Multiplayer Pack for Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Xbox 360. I don't know if I will yet because it could be a waste of time since maybe no one reads this non sense garbage. Stay Frosty.

Halo 2 Vista To Fight Another Day

Server support for Halo 2 is to continue until June 2013, until such time as 343 Industries looks at further support options.

It had previously been announced that Halo 2’s PC multiplayer servers would be shut down on February 5th. However, it seems the game has had a last minute reprieve with 343 Industries announcing an extension.

“Halo 2 PC support extended through June 2013 while we investigate further support options. Now go get those achievements,” tweeted the 343 designer David Ellis.

Hopefully they add P2P or self hosted servers would do it good. Maybe one day I'll be able to jump on this until they decide to make an anniversary edition for the next Xbox.  So go get those achievements while you can!

Identity Thief - The Movie

Financial bureaucrat Sandy Patterson (Bateman) is informed by his credit card company that he has gone over his limit when he tries to purchase gasoline. Later that day, he is arrested for missing a court date in Orlando, almost 2,000 miles from his home in Denver. In reality, his identity has been stolen by Diana (McCarthy), a con artist. In a desperate attempt to save his job, Patterson flies to her location and finds her. Patterson then drives across the country back to Denver with Diana to get her to confess her crime, exonerating him of the debt that she has racked up in his name. On the way, they are tracked by fellow criminals who want to exact revenge for schemes that Diana has pulled on them.

Personal Quick Review: 8/10 It's worth a watch. Melissa McCarthy is hilarious and makes this movie a gut buster! Sorry Jason Bateman!

Weekly Roundup WWE / TNA nonsense.

Aside from posts that I'll be posting randomly, I think I'll have a required post of anything on Monday's. It seems that's when I most frequently have a post is Monday night. I want to stay active on the interwebs so why not? This will be short and sour, because I know the few that look at my blog probably just browse for boredom and nothing really interesting happens over here, yet.

The thing I'll talk about this week is WWE '12 People's Edition for the Xbox 360. I got it for $25 on eBay, and that is including S/H. Now I thought it was really worth it since it came with a DVD of 2 episodes where The Rock returned to the WWE, a 'trading card' of The Rock and a voucher to download The Rock to play with in the game. Now it was brand new so I was excited that I get the exclusive character, The Rock. Come to find out I could have possibly gotten WWE '12 regular edition cheaper and downloaded The Rock for 80MSP, which is equivalent to $1, but I'm not complaining because I love collectors edition so I couldn't pass this one up since I just recently got back into the WWE after I stopped watching it about 5 years ago, and let me tell ya that I miss the era back than compared to this PG era. It adds nicely to my collection of Xbox 360 games that I'm collecting up now instead of trading and selling them, because you never know. It could be 'retro' one day. The last WWE game I played was 2007 I believe, which was called Smackdown vs Raw instead of solely WWE. I remember when Smackdown was PS2 and Raw was Xbox, and Raw sucked as a game because of the controls. Now these controls they revamped have become very sleek and smooth compared to what they were in 2007. I officially can't wait for my Stone Cold edition to come in the mail so I can start playing the fresh roster that I love to hate, hate to love.

Online for this game sucks because everyone just run grapples you and if you can't counter fast enough, then game over. I'd love to have a co-op Road to Wrestlemania because if you haven't learned already through a few posts is that I love co-op games over single player ones.Who wouldn't love some Tag Team action through the story to win the titles with a buddy? I know I surely would.

There's really now much to talk about right now besides I'm interested in the WWE again and might start watching TNA since a lot of the wrestlers I grew up with are on there now. I guess WWE thought they were getting too 'old'? Jeff Hardy is my favorite, back when it was Hardy Boys with Lita and Jeff Hardy just signed a long term contract with TNA last week so the rumors of him coming back to WWE got shut down. The last time I watched TNA was when Kurt Angle I think just joined it and it was an octagon or something of that nature instead of a square. I guess having more than 4 corners fucks up the WWE Alumni.

Happy Valentines Day anyone and everyone!

Farewell Halo 2 Vista

Halo 2 Vista will be closing its servers on February 15th, 2013. According to 343i, less than 50 players have peaked being online at the same time for the PC Version. I never got to play the PC version because my computer doesn't run anything besides web pages, I'm saddened to see the last online playable Halo 2 game to be shut down, unless you use XboxConnect of course! Hopefully they do announce a Halo 2 anniversary as well. Halo 2 is what made Xbox Live and I'd love to play it into the endless night once again like I used to a long time ago. I grew up with that game and besides it making me want to get Xbox Live, it also expanded LAN parties away from Halo 1. Halo 2 HD or Halo 2 Anniversary, whatever you want to call it, would be amazing if it launched with the next Xbox. It probably wouldn't do as amazing as when it first came out but I could see it doing some greatness, that is if they add all the DLC from the Xbox and the exclusive Vista maps to it. Maybe even adding cosmetic unlocks, public ranking system outside of ranked matches, and the choice to switch graphics like with Halo: CEA! Farewell Halo 2 Vista, hoping one day we meet again.

-XBoxConnect is software that runs on your PC and will let you play Microsoft Xbox games and Sony PSP games with players from around the world. Imagine plugging your Xbox or PSP into a LAN that went around the planet. Thats what we do for you. You dont have to pay for expensive online gaming services anymore. Gone are the days of being stuck with career modes. If you got a PC, broad band internet and a game console, then all you need is XBConnect. So what are you waiting for? Get XBConnect and get your Xbox and PSP online today!

Ranting v0.1

I'm going to have a weekly or bi-weekly Ranting segment where I shit on games/movies/etc.. that I have purchased or watched or anything really. This first one will be about a few games I purchased from GameStop and my local used game store.

I went to my local used game store and purchased Bulletstorm for 8.99, to realize that in order to play online I'd need to purchase a $10 online pass, well for the echoes part that is. I asked them about if it required one and they said no so come to conclusion was that I took it out of my xbox, deleted the 0 gamerscore history and now it's awaiting to be returned. I could pay $19.99 for a new copy that comes with the pass so why even bother saving that simple $1? I prefer new over used any day but when it's like a $10 difference then of course I'd go for the used copy. Now I really loved the demo so I was going to think I'd love the game but I'm not even going to bother with it anymore, I already have too many other games to play and I can swap it out for a different one that would probably play better, Mirror's Edge is on my mine. They had it for $12 so I might pick that one up. I played it when it first came out but traded it to a buddy for his Left 4 Dead because like I tell everyone basically on a daily basis is that anything with Zombies has me won over, and that's the truth.

I bought 1 more game from them and it was Rock Band 2. My drums were shit and my whammy bar on the guitar didn't work so for $75 I was definitely going to grab that game. Now I want to return it because it's in worse condition (playable wise) than my current one. Of course when you buy used you can't guarantee everything 100% but luckily they have a 2 week return policy, but only in store credit. That's a good thing for them because than they don't lose out on any profit. They'll get around $85 in merchandise back but I'll be taking a different $85 worth of merchandise home, so it's a win win situation. I might pick up a game boy and pokemon yellow while I'm at it! They have everything you could think of. That's that on my local used game store, now let's head on over to the GameStop part of this rant.

After I was done with the game store I headed on over GameStop to get Rock Band 1 for $0.99 and I browsed around a bit to see what else I wanted that was fairly cheap. They had Duke Nukem Forever for a few bucks so I snagged that, even though everyone gave it bad reviews. You think it wouldn't be a horrible game either way because Gearbox snagged the rights for it, and let me tell you they never disappoint on anything. Now I'm not saying it's a horrible game but it's not a great game either, but for $3 you can't go wrong. I played a match of multiplayer, which had about 10 people max on there and it was weird because the controls are different than what I expected them to be. This game had great potential but I think the fans wanted more out of it than it was given. Either way I'll keep it or take it back and grab the balls of steel edition for $20. I looked that thing up and it comes with a lot of goodies for just a $20 bill.

I kept browsing around and grabbed RAGE to see what it was about, I played 1 multiplayer session on that and talked to the guy about how the single player game was and he said it was crap. Without even touching it I put everything back in it's case and it's awaiting its return back to the shelves of GameStop. Upon checking out I asked the guy if he had any Tony Hawk games with covers, I can't stand those generic ones but the Platinum Hits I abide by sometimes. He pulled out Project 8 and I was excited. I really been looking for American Wasteland because that is by far the best game for Tony Hawk, besides THUG. I've been looking everywhere locally for Tony Hawk games with covers on them and this was my first one for $5 and I played a bit of it. I payed with my created skater and I guess I was obsessed with Travis Barker, because that's what he looks like. He's got the hawk, famous, tats, everything to resemble that you could think of for that game.

To come to the conclusion, I love used games most of the time because of things like this happen. When you get a new game, you are stuck with it unless you trade it in for crap cash or sell it to someone else for a little less than you payed for. All in all I love the outcome of my adventure and stay tuned for v0.2 :) Thanks for reading, maybe?

Blogs of the Dead

Hello and welcome to a one time segment of, Blogs of the Dead. Where we (as in I) talk about the death of blogs, from my point of view.

I used to see blogs as a public way to vent but on the internet. What I mean by venting is to post whatever your heart desires. From posting about your favorite band, to what you did that week, or how Hulu Plus is pissing me off right as I type this. The damn thing keeps stopping and I'm about to cancel the piece of shit. Well anyways is was your own page and you could do whatever you want. It was basically and still is a place to call your own or home when you are online. Some people use Blogs for so much more than just a personal use like I do, to talk about non sense. I do see blogs dying but I don't see them disappearing, just dwindling.

On to the matter of the subject that I am appointing to. What I mean by them dwindling is that Facebook pages and Twitter has taken blogging to a whole new level. They call Twitter micro blogging and Facebook it self is considered something like that. Tumblr took it to a whole new level by incorporating the easy post and feeds but while anyone can get a Facebook page, it seems like you can get a better group of followers through their instead of redirecting everyone to a different website outside of the comfort zone of Facebook. There are still many popular blogs out there that probably get more followers than a decent Facebook page, but in sense you see people making pages instead of blogs now a days.

I made a Facebook page but never got around to using it. I'd rather post crap on here where maybe 1 person reads a year since it makes me feel all special like. Posting more often would probably net me more people coming to my blog but I tend to only post once a week and sometimes less than that, it all depends on what life has given me around that time.

This was a small vent but to anyone that reads my blog, what is your input on blogs and Facebook pages? Do you agree with me or do you think they are as popular as they were 5 years ago?

Aliens: Colonial Marines

This game comes out next week on 2/12/13 and let's talk about the collector's edition. A lot of people are loving it and a lot of them are hating it, but that comes with all special edition copies of any game. Halo 3 for instance? I got a Master Chief helmet that I was so excited to put on, to only find out that it was just a case cover but it's better than anything because Halo is by far my favorite game so any Halo memorabilia has won me over no matter how awful it looks or sounds.

Enough about Halo, let's get back to the collector's edition to the new Aliens Colonial Marines game by Gearbox. The first thing that won me over is the highly detailed resin display model of an iconic Aliens power loader being attacked by a Xenomorph. That statue itself got me wanting the collectors edition to call my own. I'm a big Aliens fan and this will look nicely side by side with all my other collector figurines and stuff.

Next up on the list is a, not yet official, special artwork for the game case, a USCM dossier and the statue of course, all crammed into a limited edition display box with a foldout wrap around the display. There's also some exclusive in-game content that comes with the collectors edition. There's 3 multiplayer weapons, such as a flamethrower, smart gun, and an upgraded pulse rifle. Also an additional game mode thrown in, called the USCM Academy Firing Range. There's plenty more that comes with it which I'll list below, thanks to Gamestop's listing.

  • High Quality Resin Powerloader Figurine in Limited Edition Xeno Hive Box
  • Four Playable Movie Characters
  • Additional Marines Character Customization Options
  • Ripley's Flamethrower
  • Exclusive Multiplayer Weapons
  • Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers
  • Phase Plasma Rifle
  • Exclusive Game Level
  • USCM Academy Firing Range
  • USCM Dossier
  • Mission Brief
  • USS Sephora Schematic
  • Recruitment Card
  • LV-426 Recon Photo
  • USCM Iron-on Badges
  • USCM Graduation Certificate
  • A lot of the in-game content you get with the collector's edition, you will get with pre ordering it through gamestop. It costs $99.99 for the collector's edition but I do believe it's too late to even try to get it now, unless you are very lucky. I know my local gamestop stops special pre orders within a month or two from announcing it, probably because it's a small store.

Now enough about my blabber, check out the pictures of the collectors edition and pre order offers through gamestop below. This wraps up my weekly post and also check some of the links below the pictures for more info on this game.
